I'd be interested to know what people think of Dayan and Abbott's textbook "Theoretical Neuroscience: Computational and Mathematical Modeling of Neural Systems".
In particular, I'd be interested in knowing if it's "friendly" to Hawkins's approach and whether it would be a good foundation before hitting the primary literature. |

...computational modeling of the neocortex and the anatomical and physiological research that supports that.
Can you tell me more about your thoughts Dayan and Abbott or are you just trolling?
I thought it was a straightforward question: is Dayan and Abbott a useful background to reading recent academic papers of relevance to On Intelligence and HTM? |

Straightforward it is NOW. Trolling I was not.
BTW, I don't think you'll find too many if any academic papers pertaining to HTM and the like, although you can probably find some on other hierarchical approaches and alternative approaches that attempt to model the cortex, etc. |
